My younger years were spent growing up in Omaha, Nebraska with Barry as my best friend. A transfer in my father’s job brought my family to Minnesota at the end of 4th grade which is where I’ve spent the majority of my life. After a failed marriage at a young age I raised my two children in the frigid Midwest, always hoping to move to a warmer climate and follow my dreams to express my thoughts and vibrant imagination through art and prose.
Since I was a little girl I always dreamed of growing up and becoming an artist; doodling on any piece of paper I could find. You would typically find me drawing on a tablet in a quiet corner, lost in the imagination of distant worlds and wild happenings.
Although my career endeavors were never directly related to art, once my creative side was discovered I was fortunate to be commissioned to carry out a number of fun projects. Over the years I’ve been persuaded into creating a mishmash of pieces for friends, family, acquaintances and employers:
- Newsletter articles
- Tattoo Design
- Logo design
- Mascot/character development
- Script writing
- PowerPoint presentations
- Furniture embellishment
- Print proofing
- Stationary, invitations, business cards
- Print & radio advertising
- Website creation and development
- Website editing (content & grammatical audits)
- Pipeline Public awareness
- Utility Damage Prevention
- Pet portraiture
I worked 14 years in the pipeline industry as an Executive Assistant and Public Awareness Coordinator. The public awareness experience gave me many opportunities to creatively communicate safety messaging for pipeline compliance through print, radio and web mediums.
I have a degree in Advertising Art and a MOS certification in Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook). My graphic software proficiencies includes Quark Express, Publisher, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & Acrobat.
